Hello! My name is Crissy and I’m just your typical, everyday 32 year old woman. I’ve been married to my amazing husband, Matthew for 13 years and during those years, we’ve been blessed with 2 amazing kiddos, James (12) and Catherine (4). Our house is always chaotic, but is filled with giggles and smiles. We’ve begun homeschooling and though there are some tears that are shed on a daily basis, (mostly by me), we’re hanging in there and together, discovering our strengths and weaknesses. We’ve also begun the journey of living simply and simply living. (There’s a thought to get your mind working) 🙂
Now that you know a little about me and my family, I guess I’ll tell you a little bit about why I’ve decided to create this blog. To do that, I need to tell you about my grandmother, Little Mamaw. She was a pastor’s wife and one of the most amazing christian women that I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. She knew God’s Word and followed it. She wasn’t perfect…far from it as she would have told you, but she gave it her all.
As I look around at my fellow christian women, I’m saddened to see that most of us know more about the recent episode of the latest TV reality show than what God’s Word says. We’re so consumed with being a certain size that we’ll exercise daily, but never give God any of our time to just sit and talk with Him. We’re more focused on the dirt that hides under our couches than we are about the lost souls that are walking around us.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s perfectly fine for you to exercise, watch TV, and clean your house. However, when it begins to take precedence over Him, then we need to step back and have a ‘reality check’.
That’s what this blog is about. It’s calling us women to a higher standard. It’s calling us to dig deep into His Word. It’s calling us to hit our knees before we hit the gym. It’s calling us to turn to Him before we turn to the dirt.
I’m not perfect. Far from it! But my prayer is that somehow, I’ll honor Him with my life. And not just me, but all of us women who are called by His name.
